ARMADALE – MILL BRIDGE

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Upgrading and realignment of route A851 adjacent to the shore line necessitating construction of a new bridge over the Mill Burn with otter pass and rock armour wave protection.

  • Concrete / reinforced and mass – 150 m³
  • Stone Masonry facing – 100 m²
  • Excavation – 50 m³
  • Imported rock fill – 500 m³
  • Rock Armour at bridge – 200 m³

KEY FEATURES

Attractive but robust and durable structure to withstand the aggressive marine environment; Complex road geometry at the site including sag curve, super-elevation and changing cross section; Stone masonry facing to concrete; stone masonry parapets and vehicular barriers.
